CAVERNFEST FACADE GRANT
Carlsbad MainStreet launched its CavernFest Facade Grant program in 2021 and have been awarding businesses in the district each year since then. Over the years, CavernFest has been a great addition to the downtown district. Our community has been so supportive, and we would like to give some of that support to you. The grant funds can be used for different types of exterior improvements such as Removal of false fronts, Repair or replacement of windows, doors, etc. New awnings, Exterior lighting/ painting, Design and construction costs and Signage. Since 2021 we have awarded close to $20,000 in grant funding to businesses including United Way of Eddy County, Eddy County CASA, Pecos Oasis and The Party Place.
PROGRAM
CAVERN THEATRE
The Historic Cavern Theatre is once again a vibrant part of downtown Carlsbad. Following an $8.4 million rehabilitation completed in 2025, the landmark now serves as a modern venue for movies, live performances, community events, and private gatherings while preserving the character of the original 1951 theatre.

OUR VISION
Owned by the City of Carlsbad and operated by Carlsbad MainStreet, the Cavern Theatre combines modern sound and technical capabilities with historic details that generations of Carlsbad residents remember. Today, it brings entertainment, community connection, and new energy to the heart of downtown.
REHABILITATION PROJECT
DOWNTOWN MURALS
Together with, Carlsbad MainStreet, Keep Carlsbad Beautiful and the City of Carlsbad's Fine art Acquisition & Vetting Committee, a downtown mural project is underway, including the painting of electrical boxes. This project is not only beautifying the district, but is also stimulating the local artist community by way of employing Carlsbad's very own talent.

BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
BENCHES & TRASHCANS
In collaboration with Carlsbad MainStreet, POP is consistently working to improve the downtown experience through beautification, and practical installations like these. Thanks to Keep Carlsbad Beautiful, NWP and XTO, 18 brand new custom benches and 25 beautiful trash cans have been installed throughout downtown!
